Wildland RANGER - Off-Road Fire Apparatus

Where the Road Ends, Ranger Begins.

Purpose-built for the most extreme wildland environments, the RANGER is Fort Garry Fire Trucks’ next-generation Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) solution. Designed to go where traditional apparatus can’t, the RANGER delivers unmatched off-road capability, advanced safety systems, and mission-ready performance—making it the ultimate frontline asset when conditions are at their worst.

Built for Extreme Terrain. Engineered to Perform.

Mounted on a rugged International HV507 4×4 chassis, the RANGER is powered by a Cummins L9 380 HP engine paired with an Allison transmission, delivering dependable performance in the harshest environments. With a 42,000 lb GVW, this unit carries full crew, water, and equipment without compromise.

Outfitted with Michelin XZY-3 wide-base tires, the RANGER delivers exceptional traction across soft soil, mud, and mixed terrain. For extreme off-road applications, optional Michelin XZL all-terrain radials provide maximum grip and durability. When terrain pushes limits, a 16,500 lb winch ensures recovery capability wherever the mission takes you.

Advanced situational awareness comes standard with a 360° camera system, integrated GPS inclinometer with driver HUD, and available thermal imaging, allowing crews to operate confidently in smoke, dust, darkness, and unpredictable conditions.

Military-Grade Construction. Fireline Ready.

Built on Fort Garry Fire Trucks’ proven military design, the RANGER is engineered for durability in the most punishing environments. A 6061-T6 aluminum extruded sub-frame, 5083 marine-grade aluminum compartments, and reinforced steel structure provide unmatched strength and corrosion resistance.

A galvanized steel water tank with Line-X protection enhances longevity while standing up to harsh terrain, debris, and constant use. Every component is designed with long-term reliability and operational readiness in mind.

Highly configurable plumbing allows departments to tailor their apparatus with:

  • Multiple intakes and discharges
  • Bumper turrets and dump valves
  • Remote-control hose reels (up to 150 ft range)
  • Over 1,200 US gallons onboard capacity

This flexibility ensures the RANGER adapts seamlessly to a wide range of firefighting and support operations.

Power to Attack. Capacity to Sustain.

The RANGER is equipped with the Waterax B2X mid-range fire pump, delivering both high pressure and high volume for wildland and WUI operations. Powered by a Kubota 3-cylinder diesel engine, the system is reliable, efficient, and easy to maintain in the field.

From initial attack to extended operations, the RANGER supports:

  • Attack lines
  • Water supply operations
  • Structural protection

This balance of power and capacity ensures crews have the performance needed to respond quickly and stay effective longer.

Crew Protection Meets Situational Awareness.

The RANGER is designed to protect crews in the most hazardous environments. A Task Force Tips CrewProtect™ 100 filtration system delivers clean air inside the cab, removing smoke, particulates, aerosols, and VOCs with industry-leading efficiency:

  • 99.95%+ particulate filtration
  • 95%+ VOC removal
  • 100 CFM airflow for rapid air exchange

Additional safety features include:

  • Bumper and underbody spray systems for active protection
  • Real-time terrain monitoring through inclinometer systems
  • Enhanced visibility via cameras and thermal imaging

Together, these systems ensure crews remain protected, informed, and operational in rapidly changing fire conditions.

One Tough Truck. Unlimited Capability.

The RANGER is more than a wildfire apparatus—it’s a fully customizable, mission-ready platform built to meet the evolving demands of modern firefighting.

Available in Crew Cab, Extended Cab, or Regular Cab configurations, and supported by adaptable storage and equipment layouts, the RANGER can be configured for virtually any operational requirement.

From remote wildland deployment to high-risk WUI response, the RANGER delivers the strength, capability, and confidence crews depend on.

This is more than a truck—this is One Tough Truck.
