Fort Garry Fire Trucks:
A Century of Excellence

Welcome to Fort Garry Fire Trucks, Canada’s largest and oldest manufacturer of firefighting apparatus.

Established in 1919, our journey over the past 100 years has been marked by unwavering dedication to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, our reach extends not only across Canada but also to the United States and international territories, where our fire trucks endure the harshest weather, climates, and terrains.

Founding Years and Growth:

In our centennial year of 2019, we celebrated a remarkable milestone, attributing our success to the steadfast support of our valued customers, the dedication of our employees, and the collaborative efforts of our suppliers. What began as a humble venture has evolved into an industry leader with a diverse product line that includes tandem tankers, custom-built pumpers, rescues, aerial ladders, and related firefighting equipment.

Engineering Excellence and Innovation:

At the heart of our success lies one of the industry’s largest fire apparatus engineering departments. Our team is devoted to designing and producing equipment capable of withstanding the most extreme conditions globally. We proudly design and manufacture—what we call— “One Tough Truck,” a testament to our commitment to creating robust, reliable, and high-quality fire apparatus.

Evolution of the Rubber Division:

Since 1919, our Rubber Division has been a cornerstone of our operations, transforming into a full-service rubber manufacturing facility. From custom-designed steel and rubber molded products to relining hi-rail wheels for railways and producing rubber tarp straps, our Rubber Division showcases the craftsmanship that has grown with the company.

ISO Certification and Quality Assurance:

Fort Garry Fire Trucks has a long-standing commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. We made history as the first North American emergency vehicle manufacturer to implement ISO standards into our manufacturing processes. Since achieving ISO 9001 certification in 1994—and upgrading to ISO 9001:2015 in 2018—we have consistently demonstrated our ability to deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.

Our commitment extends beyond manufacturing excellence. We maintain strict accountability and transparency across our supply chain, supported by formal policies and governance frameworks that reinforce ethical sourcing and responsible operations.

To support these efforts, we publish our Annual Report under the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, along with several key policy documents, including our Forced and Child Labour Prevention Policy, Social Procurement Mission Statement, and Supplier Code of Conduct. These documents outline our approach to ethical procurement, supplier expectations, and human rights standards across all levels of our business.

Our Social Procurement Mission Statement emphasizes our commitment to working with vendors who prioritize human rights, labour protections, and community impact . Complementing this, our Supplier Code of Conduct establishes clear, enforceable standards for all suppliers, including prohibitions on forced and child labour, requirements for safe and fair working conditions, and compliance with all applicable labour laws .

Together, these initiatives reinforce our dedication to ethical sourcing, regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality apparatus our customers can trust.

State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility:

Our dedication to the fire service is exemplified by our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, completed in January 2013. Every step of the manufacturing process is meticulously documented as part of our ISO 9001 rating, ensuring comprehensive records for future service and warranty needs.

Customer-Centric Approach:

We believe in building the strongest and highest-quality fire trucks in North America, emphasizing features over price. Our sales team engages in extensive consultations with customers, listening to their needs and customizing solutions. Our philosophy is clear: sales may sell the first truck, but it’s our exceptional service that sells all the rest.

Fort Garry Fire Trucks remains committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation, engineering excellence, and customer satisfaction.
